Warrenton, VA – Human trafficking is a prevalent and growing crime in the United States. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that they have seen an increase of 846%, nationally, in reports of suspected child sex trafficking. In an effort to combat this injustice, the Just Ask Prevention Project has developed comprehensive prevention programs which are being used and adapted for implementation in the Piedmont region, as well as other parts of the United States in an effort to safeguard those communities from human trafficking and exploitation. The Just Ask Prevention Project believes in safeguarding communities through partnership.
On March 22, 2019, BWell Today For Tomorrow, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, pledged to join forces with the Just Ask Prevention Project to help safeguard communities through partnership. BWell Today also presented the Just Ask Prevention Project with a grant to further the reach and effectiveness of its programs. This grant will be used in the implementation of prevention programs in realizing the vision of Just Ask – a world where children are free to achieve their full potential without the threat of being trafficked or exploited.
“The Just Ask Prevention Project does great work. It just makes good sense that if BWell Today For Tomorrow can assist Just Ask through this grant, and the result is to prevent even a single child from being a victim of trafficking…then this partnership is delivering. We are impressed with their prevention program and their boots on the ground efforts; as a result, it was an easy decision to partner with The Just Ask Prevention Project. They save kids.” – Linda and Dick Blackwell, Founders, BWell Today For Tomorrow.
“The Just Ask Prevention Project is extremely thankful for the partnership with BWell Today For Tomorrow. Through the support of this partnership we are able to bring our prevention programs to more communities in the Piedmont region and strengthen the communities in which we are already working. In partnership with BWell Today we will be able to further ensure that young people throughout the Piedmont area are afforded the opportunity to thrive and have the skills and resources necessary to protect themselves and their communities from exploitation.” – Bill Woolf, Executive Director, Just Ask.

On May 31, 2019 BWell Today for Tomorrow hosted a golf tournament to benefit local non-profits, including the Just Ask Prevention Project. Just Ask was honored to participate in the event. The powerful story of Jacob Mark Blackwell, for whom the tournament in named, touched everyone in attendance and humbled those working in the field.
